UK: Mass graves found in Bas-Congo, The Congolese prostest
Manchester, UK Saturday 12 April 2008 - Protesters staged a demonstration outside BBC buildings who the Congolese diasporas feel have not covered the crackdown in Bas-Congo properly. They were hundreds of Congolese, British and others nationalities and communities.
Called by “Congolese Fighters” in the UK, Women for Common Cause and Bundu Dia Congo, the demonstration and public meeting against deportations to DR Congo Highlighted the recent killings in the Bas Congo, and emphasize the interdiction of Bundu dia Congo practice by the government.
Madam Nzita (member of Bundu dia Congo) said the Killing of civilian in the Bas Congo region must be stopped and brought the killers to justice by the international community. A new genocide has begun in Congo. We must fight to stop it. The philosophy of Bundu dia Kongo is for every citizen to enjoy our wealth.
Jonny Voza Zola a Congolese activist of human rights, in his speech he took this opportunity to emphasize that the practice of Bundu dia Congo must be free and not be prohibited by the Kabila regime, as it is against human right.
Kill the Congolese people, the mass graves found in the south western Bas-Congo Province where security forces recently clashed with followers of a religious sect., shows how many times the Congolese government does not respect human life.
Miss Elodie KAMBA MUJINGA who was released from Yarl's Wood Immigration Removal Centre on Sunday said: 'After the so called 'democratic' elections, our country, the DRC, remains the same: Illegal detention & arbitrary arrests, killing, torture, rape of women, men & children, no freedom of speech. Kabila and his government must go without any delay so that we can return to our country in dignity.'
